American Red Cross’ 19th Annual CPR Saturday Returns This Weekend


On Saturday, March 13, 2010, San Diego American Red Cross will host its 19th Annual CPR Saturday. The event takes place at the Golden Hall at the San Diego Concourse, 202 C Street at B Street and 3rd Avenue

CPR Saturday is designed to teach San Diegans the life saving measures of CPR. The training is free and participants who successfully complete the training will receive a CPR certification. Also featured at the event will be a Children’s Learning Area for ages 5 to 11.

Sessions begin at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. and 1 p.m.  Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your desired session start time.

There is no advance registration required for this event!  Simply come to the class you intend to take and registration will take place then (arriving half an hour early is strongly recommended).

This year’s CPR Saturday program will include:

* Free Adult CPR training and certification for all ages
* Safety training, fun and games for children ages 5 to 11
* An American Red Cross blood drive

About the Children’s Area: This event will include training sessions for children ages 5-11. Children can participate in Basic Aid Training (basic first aid & safety information) and Whales Tales (how to be safe in, on and around the water).

Please note:

* Wear comfortable clothing
* Children ages 5-11 can participate in the Children’s Area while their parents are being trained. Otherwise, childcare is not provided.
* No cost for training, but donations are accepted
* Blood Drive on-site
* Check in at least 30 minutes prior to session
* Each session is about 3-1/2 hours long
* Easily accessible by mass transit
* Limited reduced rate parking available
