Library Screens The Horse Boy; Parents Journey To Find A Cure For Their Son’s Autism

The San Diego Public Library will host a Community Cinema preview screening of The Horse Boy, directed by filmmaker Michel Orion Scott. The film chronicles a family’s journey across the vast, wild landscape of Mongolia searching for a cure for their son’s autism. The FREE screening will take place on Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. in the 3rd floor auditorium of the Central Library, located at 820 E Street in downtown San Diego.
When their son is diagnosed with autism, a Texas couple seeks the best treatments but nothing works until they discover their son’s connection to horses and the magical affect it has on him. After deciding how far they were willing to travel to heal the child they love, they embark on a spiritual journey taking them halfway around the world to Mongolia. Part travel adventure and shamanic quest, The Horse Boy is the moving story of how one family found a gateway into understanding their son’s life.
