Arrest Made; Victims Identified in Vista Shooting at Pacific Coast Boxing

The Sheriff’s Department has released the names of the victims that were wounded during a shooting that occurred last night in Vista at the Pacific Coast Boxing gym, 1304 N. Santa Fe. The three victims have been identified as Hector Gil (age 52), Peter Moreno (age 56) and Ricardo Gutierrez (age 21). Moreno and Gutierrez were treated at Palomar Hospital for gunshot wounds. Gil died on scene due to his injuries.

Sergeant Roy Frank, Sheriff’s Homicide Detail, reports that an arrest of a suspect was made today at about 2:00 p.m. in connection the shootings. Mark Anthony Diaz, 49 years of age, was arrested at his residence in Carlsbad and has been booked into Vista Jail on homicide related charges.
